450mm: It’s been six years since my popular treatise on 450mm wafer showed that if the industry followed the 300mm trend the worst case could wafermageddon. It was clear that the industry had to do a much better job of things. So far, 450mm has been a much better job costing far less. In this article, I look into the hows, whys, and what we need to do to make 450mm a reality.
