BANGALORE, India--India Semiconductor Association ISA, the trade body for the Indian semiconductor driven industry, today announced the appointment of Mr. S Janakiraman, President & CEO R&D Services Mindtree Consulting Ltd., as the Chairman of ISA for the year 2007-08. Mr. Jaswinder Ahuja, Managing Director, Cadence Design Systems, has been appointed Vice Chairman, ISA for the current year.
Announcing the Chairman and Vice Chairman for 2007-08, Mrs. Poornima Shenoy, President, ISA, said, "We are delighted to have Mr. S Janakiraman taking on the Chairmanship of ISA. He has played an important role, both as a member and as ISA’s Vice Chairman last year. Mr. S Janakiraman is also greatly respected in the industry for his leadership, technical knowledge and strategic vision. With his guidance, we are certain that a young body like ISA will attain even greater success. We are also extremely pleased to have Mr. Jaswinder Ahuja take the position of Vice Chairman, ISA for 2007-08."

The other elected members to the Executive Council are: Vasudevan Moorthy Wipro Technologies, Sanjeev Keskar Freescale Semiconductor, Rajiv Kapur LSI, B V Naidu SemIndia, Dr Pradip K Dutta Synopsis, Dr Sunil Sherelekar TCS and V Veerappan Tessolve Services.
India Semiconductor Association ISA is the only body representing the Indian semiconductor industry. ISA has around 130 members from the semiconductor and electronics industry across India besides key players in the ecosystem. ISA is committed towards building global awareness for the Indian semiconductor and electronics industry and creating productive interaction between the various stakeholders. This includes product and services companies, government, academia, venture capitalists and industry bodies.
