August 13, 2008:VLSI Research’s analysts opine on the top stories in the semiconductor/hi-tech business. Earnings season is almost complete and 2Q results were lackluster. Memory makers are losing money, but logic companies are faring better. In equipment, AMAT sees last quarter as the trough of the downturn.
